My name is Shannon Calder, and I am the owner, operator and chief fabric engineer at Calder Creations. I am a fourth generation seamstress. I learned to sew on my grandmother’s 1949 Singer at the age of 7, and 49 years later that is the same machine I use today. I have a Bachelor of Arts in English from Texas A&M University where I was a member of the Fighting Texas Aggie Corps of Cadets, class of ’89.
In 2009, I started Calder Creations as a way to fund my fabric habit and it has grown over the years to provide unique, fun and funky items for some amazing clients, teachers and friends. I love fabric, color and breathing new life into items that would be otherwise discarded. I like to use up-cycled denim, scrap fabric and old t-shirts to make all kinds of useful and decorative items. I also offer limited mending and alteration services. Check out my galleries for ideas on one of a kind items made custom just for you. Contact me so we can start creating!
